BSG is back tonight. Im rather excited. The beer is in, the pizza will be ordered.
nice, I think Ill have to catch that ASAP
If anyone posts spoilers please make sure you mark your post or post in a new thread with spoiler titles. Im desperately trying to save the final half of season 4 to view properly in high def when the blu-ray is released rather than watching it like a postage stamp on the PC.

Yes. Im pwned beyond belief because I couldnt spot a grainy little picture is a car spoiler. Didnt even cross my mind because one side looks wonky and the other straight. Im also not a chav so I havent spent much time oogling car spoilers and suchlike.

You can wind up all you like, Ive had far worse from far better people. I just dont think it looks like a spoiler on my grainy laptop screen because of the perspective. End of discussion.

Good point. I could tell what it was easily, but with my mind thats what I was looking for ;)
Back to BSG and it was disappointing.
When is it airing in the UK?
This better?

Nevermind, I found it on the skyplanner for Tuesday. Slightly concerned that it lists it as episode 13 of season 4 and not episode 11 though?
Ive caved in already.

And I was just going to ask if you wanted all the spoilers removed... :D
They count Razor as the first 2 episodes of the season. I dont know why.
i got bored of battlestar after the 2nd season. all the critics say it was a good series as a running commentary to whats going on in the world today and raising issues of faith and other numerous issues. Thats all well and good but I originally started watching it for GIANT SPACE BATTLES, and to be fair it started to disappoint as it got further along.
Now im sure some people will say im missing the point and that its still a great TV series......and well if you enjoy it who am i to argue? But it to me its just not as entertaining as it was when it first started, and thats why you watch the program isnt it? to be entertained? And well it just doesnt "do" it for me anymore
Having series after series of giant space battles results in at least one of these things
Constant escalation as they try to outdo themselves, it might start out as two cylon fighters doing an attack on a pair of Galactica ones but you can bet that pretty soon its going to be two against five cylons, ten, fifty, a hundred, a thousand, rediculous?
It becomes very boring and repetitive to the average viewer, they bog off and watch something else.
One side runs out of fighters. OK, as youre actually dealing with virtual fighters this is unlikely, but the Galactica doesnt have unlimited replacement pilots. Eventually you will have two left...
There isnt anyone watching except the few who think giant space battles are everything.
Not enough money coming in so the next series is cancelled.
Actually, I dont care for giant space battles :P I started watching it out of interest, but quickly found interest in the sub-plots with the characters and how they deal with life in a migrant fleet fleeing from the enemy much more interesting.
BSG has never been about the giant space battles, in fact if you examine the past three and half seasons there have been remarkably few. There are plenty of other shows about if you want brainless action, BSG has always been about the charachters and the human condition.
Aye. I will admit that to start with I remembered some people saying how awesome the space scenes were, but when I watched the series through I was left wondering what they were meaning, as they were non existent. Sure the scenes of ships are pretty cool, and the design is refreshing when compared to things like starwars. Im not complaining though, as I think if they had to take anything out to add more space scenes BSG would have been worse off!

But when they do do them they do not do it half assessed :)

Sci Fi for me is something that can easily be done wrong. Ive never had an interest in things like Andromeda, Firefly or Babylon 5, Every crime in the book from boring characters, to cheesy stories, cheesy ideas, right down to having no direction at all which series like Heroes are being criticised for.
BSG for me has been a dark, dritty, political and sexy (not in the litteral term) program. Its worth watching from the start. It changes pace often and you wonder where it is going, but it allways finds direction, right now its just gotten interesting again, it was one of those episodes I like to think that rewrites the way things are and sets the scene for something to come. Your not thrilled by it but your left intrigued.
It makes you think someone is something for the first 35 minutes and bang right at the end slaps you with the real truth or revelation.
Is that referring to the first ep of the second half of the last season? :gag: (Dont tell me, Im watching it tonight!)
I dont get the criticism shows get for lack of direction. Life doesnt have a direction, why should the shows?
i take back what i said, the last couple of episodes have been really good. i didnt particularly like the episode centering around religion and politics tho
one of the episodes i enjoyed the most was at the beginning, when the water storage area was bombed. they showed daily fleet routines and stuff which i really enjoyed and wished there was more of that sorta stuff
Just watched the latest episode, it really was nail biting stuff. Actually Id rate it as one of the best episodes the show has seen thus far, alongside 33, Crossroads and Unfinished Business.
