Title: budget multi player gaming for 8 - 18year olds
Post by: GaviN on January 09, 2007, 09:48:17 AM
Theres some one i know at the moment whos going through a bad patch where the dad has walked out on them leaving 3 kids and the mum!

Ive given them my old x box and they seem to love playing that but keep going on about mario and mario kart

now i have a n64 in the garage and a few games for it.......but no scart lead and one controller

Am i better to try and get bits for that or just get a game cube cheap and then get mario cart and mario etc for that? as i think you can have 4 people at once on the screen cant you playing mario kart?

Obviously i dont want to spend a lot so all these newer consoles are way out of the question:)

EDIT or is worth trying to get a second ps2.....EDIT 2 realised that defeats the point of mario et al
Cheers guys

The scart cable is the same for SNES / N64 / GameCube so you can pick one up for around Ã,£4.99.

Personally if you have access to a gamestation I would say go the way of the n64 over the cube. You can buy a load of carts for dirt cheap aswell as the controllers. That said you can also pick up Gamecubes for Ã,£35~ (I think there is still someone selling one in the forsale section) and there are TONS of cool cheap games for that aswell

Yeah hes right Gamestation could be your saviour here. Personally Id go for the N64 as the unboxed games are dirt cheap and some are fantastic. Nothing beats N64 Mario Golf!!

I would say thats a good deal!

With the multiplayer games, most games have some sort of 2 player, and there are alot which are 4 player... when you buy a game online it should say in details and if you get from a store it says on the back of the box :)

Ive tried that twice before and ive fecked it up, CEX has a few x boxs in for Ã,£45 so if i get that spare i might still try it again if the convertors for the x box are full proof and easy to install now intead of all of that soldering i had to do 2 years ago with the executer or what ever it was
