Title: bypass winxp logon password ?

I need to bypass a winxo logon password...

I need some fiels from the system... but after that its getting formated...

and Ive googled... but nothing ive found works :(

it has an admin password too.... which would be my normall work-around ;)


anyone got any good links, or can recomend any good programs ?

I need to either firnd the password, reset the pasword, or make a new admin account to log into :o

linux live cd. Something like bit defender will mount the hard drive on boot. meaning you can access the files.

For cracking the code. Grab the necessary hash files, and run them in lophtcrack.

Hirens bootCD has tools to change or delete passwords.

Sorry is this administrator account we are on about or an account with local admin privilidges?

If not, boot into safe mode to show the administrator account, the chances are the administrator account itself does not have a password.

Just install xp over the top and then when you log in on the new install, you can use xp itself to access files on the old accounts (you right click in the users directory and there is some option to remove old passwords). You dont need to f**k about with hash codes and warp drives.

Download the liveCD from http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

Boot off it and leave it along for 5 - 10min

Itll detect the windows install and crack all the passwords :)


I use it all the time at work when sales monkeys forget their passwords, never had it fail yet (oh and it works with vista too)

doh, didnt have time in the end so just phoned the guy and okd it to wipe it clean.... saved myself all the hastle :)
