Title: Cable Router Reccomendations
Post by: Russell on November 15, 2006, 08:29:10 AM
Im thinking about getting a router for my connection at home.  At the mo Im just using a PC to share the connection, it works perfectly fine but when my brothers home for Christmas etc it has to be turned off, so a nice shiney router might help somewhat.

Am not definetly going to buy one but I just thought Id get some reccomendations as to whats good/bad.

Wireless aint essential but might be useful to have, and price wise I aint looking to spend loads.

So anyone got any reccomendations?

WRT54-GS is what im using at home, im steering clear of linksys ADSL routers these days, but the Cable router is a spot on piece of kit.  Never drops connection, never locks up and never causes me any problems.

RP614 Netgear is excellent for wired or the WGR614 are both good.

I have both myself and they have both been great.

I wouldnt touch the belkin adsl routers at all

But i have installed a few of their cable routers recently and not had a problem from any of them

Also belkin are probably the cheapest brand of the main decent named brands
