Title: Can someone recommend me a really nice 2.1 setup
Post by: mrt on September 03, 2007, 11:45:37 AM
Hey all,

I need to downsize my setup as I have a very small lounge (12ftx12ft) and just cannot have speakers all over the room (presssure from wife ;-)

So, can you recommend me some really nice 2.1 setups.  The speakers cannot be bookshelf types.  I really need a great 2.1 setup which uses Satellites and a relatively small size subwoofer.

Something that looks pretty nice too.

Did see these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Acoustic-Energy-Aego-M-System-Black_W0QQitemZ220143390034QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3275QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Budget ~£200

Cheers

Just remove the rear speakers from your present set up, put them away and readjust the settings...

Or buy some thin wall mountable speakers for the surround sound. The ones I am using now are <25mm thick. route the cables along the walls behind dado rail.

Can you tell me what ones you have?  Am intrigued?  I kind of want to get a newer set.  My setup is about 5 years old now, so needs a facelift.

Not being funny, but flat speakers are generally sh*te. The Acoustic Energy set you were looking at are ideal. For the £100 price of the Aego M setup you cant go wrong, for the money they offer great reproduction - and Ive heard them with my own ears as my mate has a pair.

Oh, and £20 cheaper at Superfi mate ;)
