The dude from Game of Thrones!

So from the crappy heavy metal soundtrack and general feel of the trailer I'm guessing PG/12A and as much depth to it as a puddle.

Its going to follow the suit of all remakes and most likely turn into garbage, i really wish they would stop doing remakes of classics.

Yeah, its clearly another bland, uninspired cas-in and not an original re-interpretation as everyone had hoped.

Don't worry guys, it's R rated apparently so should get a 15 over here. I'm hoping it's just a duff trailer and bad marketing. Ignoring the action cliches it looks like they've gotten the feel of Hyboria pretty much spot on, much better than the Arnie film did.

Still a bit of a coin toss, it could go either way.

He's actually pretty much bang on how Howard described him. Arnie was completely wrong for the job. Or right, depending on whether you wanted an Arnie film or a Conan film first time around.

Arnold lost a lot of muscle in the first place to play Conan, he certainly looked far more imposing than this chap.

Conan isn't supposed to be Herculean. Quite of few of the bad guys he comes up against are always described as being taller and far more musclebound, so if you wanted an a-typical Conan bad guy then you something like Arnie back in the day would be perfect. He's supposed be quite agile and intelligent as well, two attributes Arnie was sorely lacking.

Once again I'm not digging at the Arnie film, it was a classic, but it was an Arnie film, not a Conan film. I'm also not defending the new film, it could go either way based on the trailer so we'll have to see. There's a lot to be criticised about the trailer and the potential direction they are taking it, but you can't criticise it for not looking like the 1982 film which in itself had little to do with Howard's stories and how Conan should be, something they seem to have at least tried to do in this new film, be it good or bad.

I think this film will sadly fail whether it is incredible of awful; it will forever live in the shadow of the Arnie film and people will loudly proclaim that he doesn't look anything like Conan when quite the opposite is true.

Quixoticish you're skating on thin ice, next you will be telling me Arnies Russian accent in Red Heat was crap!

Even in the Arnie Conan's there will still bigger looking people for him to contend with, in the first you had Thulsa Doom's two big henchmen plated up and with massive weapons, then the black guy playing Bombataa in CtD was gigantic. It's not so much about his size but his screen presence which few people can honestly match up to.

There is a few really dam good gory Conan Anime out there which do not have him that big either. Well built but not huge - All about the weapon skills and the fighting. Hes a dam good warrior AND if your too big your slower. Conan is supposed to be the ultimate warrior who can take on many enemies at any given time.
Arnie conan was great but combat wise it was always very slow.

Same with Star Wars movies - Overall the new Saga was not as good as the old Saga but the Jedi Fighting was a million times better being fast and more active.

Here we go, a much better trailer. Still a rubbish nu-metal track blaring away in the background but sex, lots of violence and a hint of something much more grandiose.
