SOME STAR WARS geeks have come up with a use for their Apple laptops sudden motion censor. They have programmed it so that it makes the sound of a Star Wars light sabre when it is swung.

MacSaber 1.0 Beta, here (http://isnoop.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/05/MacSaber_1Beta.zip)  [zip file], is almost certain to get Mac Heads swinging their reassuringly expensive laptops around at each other, while reciting lines from the six movies.

The software senses the speed for the lightsabre movement sounds and acceleration for different levels of striking sounds. So if you swing your lappie around your bedroom fast it will make the sound of an overhand blow to the head.

Unfortunately it does not turn your expensive Apple Mac into a real light sabre. Rather than passing through your steel and concrete walls, or the skull of your younger brother, it is more likely to shatter your machine into a million pastel pieces.
