Features the new Espresso install from liveCD
cool now i can finally apt up
another distraction to exam revision lol
on a side note anyone with a g4 ppc or below should apt-grade atm. there is a massive kernel error which i am to noobified to fix.
i will wait till they fix this :(
Just done my dist-upgrade and everythings fine.. It asked for a reboot (new kernel) and I didnt bother, just stopped GDM and started it again... X was broke (new nvidia-glx package) so rebooted... the kernel then matched the new nvidia, and X was working magically.
it seems fast, and stable so far.......just like it has been since I first starting using dapper :P
16mb of updates got me the final. No surprises.
The Espresso installer looks quite cool!

Whats the program that installs all the extra useful stuff automagically?
EDIT: Oh, and the 112k down proves that Azureus encrypted traffic gets around Pipexs packet shaping :)

Easy Ubuntu or Automatix.
Both have their issues, so user beware. Make sure to get a version thats for Dapper or youll likely have major problems.
Yay! Because problems are what Linux is for :)
Problems? None here. Ive run the bleeding edge of Dapper for months with everything working just fine. Wasnt able to use Xnest for a few days, but its never used for much more than to show off.
Easy Ubuntu and Automatix, depending on version number, can do stupid stuff like change your /etc/apt/sources.list. Running them to install bits and bobs will in all liklihood never hurt anything, but with sh*tty sources, updating can be very fun indeed. Especially if you ignore advice and install a Hoary version on a Dapper box, do an "update" and all hell breaks loose.
Always back up your sources before running either is the lesson to be learned. ;)
Twas only a joke, been running Ubuntu on the laptop for near a year now. Im hoping Dapper gets WPA working though, I never got it going.
Yay, all went swimmingly with Automatix, DVD playbacl on Linux, whoda thunk it?
Is there a native problem playing video over a network from a Windows share. I seem to remember having this problem before that nothing would open it unless I mapped the share to a local folder, which is a bit of an arse tbh.

Pipex is packet shaping? When did that happen?
A couple of months back I think. I assumed I was just getting lame torrents maxing out at 25k/s, but a quick google revealed otherwise.
BTW, love that the one CD is both live and install, very nice indeed.
