Title: Dead Island
Post by: Bacon on September 12, 2011, 05:05:49 AM
Am i the only one here who bought it? Its not a title i even considered buying but after watching a Youtube video i couldn't resist.

Aside from the variation of review scores from 30/100 - 90/100 and the talk of bugs etc (to be expected) its actually a really fun game, i've been hooked since 7.30pm Saturday night!

I have just got to the city now, but i bet there are more side quests i have missed around the resort, there is so many side quests!

If anyone has it, i'll be on Steam playing it this week, shockingly im even tempted to go for an hour now and sleep in til late.  :muttley:

I got it, you added me on Steam over the weekend, just got the invite last night and accepted, drop me a line if you fancy some co-op on it :) I'm not to far into, just got to the life guard station.

I know what you are saying with the reviews. Edge slated it along with a few others but tbh, I've never had so much fun bashing in zombie heads. To me it's an improvement over L4D2 atm, well better as I love L4D2 also :)

Although the one bug that's funny is if you chose a female character and you do the first mission, the life guy keeps calling you "him" "he" "guy" etc so I guess they didn't do two audio tracks depending on if you are a male or female character. So essentially the female characters are deemed to be she males xD

I've played it a bit, its basically Borderlands meets L4D on a tropical island, which is a winning combo in anyone's books. I'll be tempted to get it when it drops in price.

Got to level 21, the City can be a bit a challenging, you really need to think about every situation and don't get to confident.

Just about to go back on before work, addicted!

Think i'm on something like Chapter 8 and i'm level 25, someone please hurry up and catch up :P, its still soloable but i'm using a lot of Deo's and Molotov's atm. :P

I also worked out if you stand on cars you can hit them but they cant hit you! Not that its been any use to me, i spent all night in the Sewers.
