Hi all,My lcd has been running on plug and pay and probably could get a little more out of it with the correct driver installed, I am on x64 which I love but I can not find an x64 driver for my nice dell lcd
Any you got one or have a hacked one at all?
Thanks
Here is the 32bit file if any of you happen to know what needs changing, I have done it with another driver for a phone once.

Does having a proper driver make any difference? Ive always used plug&play
It made a huge difference on my old CRT, not sure about TFTs.
I did remember reading something about TFT drivers on the OcUK forums, have a gander over there.
*Edit - On the monitor forums ofc.

Yeah it does, my acer lcd is dam fine, really good for a 17" square, its downstairs and every time i look at it i think it was worth the cash and think it was one of the best things I have ever bought.
Plug and play it look nice but when i once bothered to install the acer driver for it it just looked a little sharper and better colours and Even my mum noticed that it looked better.
On a lot of CRTs the drivers would control the compatible refresh rates and such much more accurately than plugnplay. Im sure a similar translation has been made for TFTs; I never really understood why monitor manufacturers didnt push their drivers more.
From the look of things, all they do is specify which refresh rates and resolutions are accessible in the display settings. Cant see how that can improve picture quality at all :?
suppose they could mess with brightness or something maybe. But meh :|
