Do Sex.
Anyone else getting this, it looks 'a bit good'
I'm going to hold fire following the hype until I've seen some proper in-game I think

There's also too many games that I want to play between now and Christmas, so I'm going to try to be v. picky :o
I have so much of a backlog (some not even opened yet :-[ ), that even if I only buy Skyrim (http://www.tekforums.net/movies-games-music-and-more/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/) this year I'll be more than entertained for another two years.
But this looks too incredible (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/preview-deus-ex/717617) to let it pass me by. 8)
Now that does make it look good! Between this, Diablo III and Skyrim (possibly the new Battlefield too) it's shaping up to be an immense amount of gaming possibilites.
Oh balls, that video really does make it look good. Well then, I won't bother trying to have a life for the rest of the year*.
*nothing new there really ;)
Had it on pre-order on amazon for a while, its down to only £24.97 for the augmented edition which ain't too bad at all, can't wait but it'll end up getting it just before I go on holiday and I'll either not get to start it till I get back or be in the middle of it when I go doh.
Hmmmmmm, it seems good so far, but some of the controls are clunky and methinks this one will be another big victory for the PC, haven't got the PC version to compare side by side yet but the xbox seems to do a 'good' job but not great.

Didn't realise it was out yet... :D
Roll on Friday or Saturday, or Monday or Tuesday, whenever it gets delivered!
Oh god, it suffers from Duke Nukem Forever fever in places >:( some of the characters just wandering about look like they're from Half Life 2! (not as bad as Duke Forever where they where fresh out of Half Life 1 mind!)
Console limitations I'm afraid rearing the ugly head again :'(
Good job I've ordered the PC version then, just realised its a bank holiday this weekend too so hopefully it'll turn up and I can get stuck in over the long weekend woop woop
I ordered for PS3 so I can get the DLC, patches etc, I expect the PC version to utterly batter the consoles on this game tbh.
The PC version is 'out' but only legit copies work thusfar :)
There are no "scene" PC releases so far. North America version has already been legit released. Europe is the 26th, or friday.
I don't really care if the graphics aren't amazing. I've been playing the original Deus Ex and I couldn't care less that the gfx are 11 years old.
Too much emphasis is put on games looking good and not enough on good gameplay.
the market for young console players has dumbed down games so much and the ones who suffer are the people who really appreciate a good game. It's such a shame and I long for a time where the priorities are reversed to mean good gameplay trumps games looking nice.
You oviously haven't played SOLDNER Edd, it's the best of both worlds!
I'll have to give it a try then! ;)
Managed to get a copy of the PC version (I actually bought it )
Anyway will give it a thorough thrashing and report back on it!

Dunno if that's a lil dig at me and my yarrish ways but as per the last page I
HAVE bought this (this can be confirmed by anyone on my PSN or facebook) I just begrudge and will not pay for it on multiple formats! :)
I will always buy games that deserve it, but never on multiple formats, sod that.
OH and my TOP TIP, anyone who wants to get games early, ALWAYS pre-order through game, a good 90% of the time you get them the day before ;D oh and make sure to get some trophies/achievments to time stamp this fact to annoy others even more
No that wasn't a dig at you at all Matt and I apologise if it came over that way. The roll eyes was for the fact I actually had to buy the game and that there were no scene releases of it. I think the last time I bought a game before this was Mass Effect 2. I kinda feel nice and warm inside for actually buying the game, but then I think I've just spent £40 on something that I could get for free if I just had a little more patience. But unfortunately patience is definitely not something that I have!
there is a p2p version of it out atm for PC, but I can't find it on usenet. Must be on torrents and sites like rapidshare, and I refuse to use either of them.
Sorry Edd my fault, I read it as you where having a dig at me having a dodgy copy
I always buy games that are worth it, this in fairness does seem so
Who ever is doing a review could you make a quite nice one, think if it was on kotaku and you doing the review. We could use it for the new site.
I've bought it. Can't be arsed to install it yet though... :worried:
... which is just as well because Steam's servers are down.
[update]
Ok, now in and Steam is forcing me to download 8Gb worth of game "updates" (i.e. the entire game)... ::)
Anyone know how to make it install from disc or know where I can get a cracked exe?
Yerr, ya wankers @Steam..... ::)
http://www.btgames.co.za/bt/STEAM_DOWNLOAD.pdf =
This is going on my Christmas list. I really want to play it but there are so many other games coming out in the next few weeks that this is not a must have for me.
I did 14 hours straight last night on Arma 2. I'm more ball-bagged now than a big bag o' ball-shaped things.
DEHR is even more addictive! :worried:
Eye candy is well on par with Mass Effect but scenery is more 'animated' (flashy lights, fire, liquids etc).
Weird thing is; I'm running it full-res (1920x1200), maxxed out on all settings with a system built about six years ago: an Intel 2.4 Q6600 QuadCore - with no issues whatsoever... :o
My new graphics card will come with this bundled, sounds like I'll be hitting 1920x1200 @ full everytin' too :w00t: Looking forward to installing it next week
I forgot to mention I compared PS3 / PC side by side, even at 1080p it doesn't look that much better, I was expecting it to blow it away tbh :)
Weeeeeeelll, I got my new 6870 black edition this morning and used my voucher to download this from Steam, which took most of the afternoon.
I've just played a couple of hours worth and first things first the characters can be a bit DNF but overall the graphics are very good and with everything maxed it looks sweet and runs a dream @ 1920x1200.
I set the difficulty to medium, and it actually felt like hard mode to begin with, I died very quickly numerous times on the first groups of enemies - I find the stealth cover and other controls a bit clunky and its rather annoying that when you crouch you have to press the same key again to uncrouch - basically its just going to take me some getting used to as I'm not a 'stealth' person. It doesn't help being given a crap rifle with only 6 tranq. shots that don't seem to work very well. My first decision was to try and not hurt anyone and be stealthy which went out of the window straight away given these facts. It took too long and I was getting shot too much, so I'm progressing much faster just by shooting seven shades out of everyone now :yarr:
Overall I think I'm going to hop in and out of this one. The cutscenes, etc make it enjoyable but given the mission lengths it seems like you need to devote some time to really getting into it, but I find some of the objectives and instructions a bit vague, like rescuing hostages that I couldn't even find! But overall its good fun and I quickly killed a couple of hours without realising it, not that I've got very far ;D

Same here but you get used to the combat system pretty quick. Trick is to get the reticle 'on'
before you pop-up.
I'm finding that getting into cover is almost essential for combat - it's no 'run and gun', this one.

You can change the behaviour in settings to 'hold button' rather than toggle. :)

Me too. Killing is very satisfying in this game. I'm doing most with the 10mm pistol. BOOOOOM Headshot!!!!
The more I play this, the more I remember of the original - still one of the best games ever, IMO. :)[/font]
Cheers, I'll look at changing the crouch toggle setting. You simply have to use cover to get anywhere, sometimes it definitely feels a bit clunky and I've had times where i've gone to do a dive and he's turned a corner so to speak, landing me in the sh*t! :worried: Overall it works very well though and it's pretty satisfying when you combo a cool takedown with some John Woo inspired shooting-action shenanigans.
Just encountered the first boss... 12 attempts... have given up! :worried:
Until tomorrow.
Most unlike me! :disappointed:
LOL @ the end...
I completed this last night on hard mode, a bit too easy to be honest, I finished the game with a ridiculous surplus of weapons and ammo! oh well :)
In the final 'scene' I had no idea whatsoever of what I was supposed to be doing. I just pressed and/or shot everything I saw. :disappointed:

The last bits are a bit of a letdown really, it's actually trickier putting the game disc back in the box
I haven't had time to get that far in yet, but every vid I've seen of the boss fights makes them look really hard. Maybe they were playing on hard mode though.
I was playing on hard mode, you mean to tell me you're not? :yarr:
I generally start a game on normal to get to grips then do hard mode (I used to jump straight to hard mode and some games are insane from the off like it). I think you're perhaps some sort of god at this then! To be honest I haven't played it enough, but even on normal I found the controls letting me down and trying to be stealthy, perhaps it gets much easier as you go along and get augmented, etc.
No mate just cheap, save/load R us
Missing Link DLC out today, promising at least 5 hours extra gameplay and the reviews are pretty good... high price @ £8.99 but I'm bored so have purchased it :P
Ouch. Bit pricey for a game section that was cut from the original...
Just completed it and it is very good, longer than some full games as well.
Only gripe is that I decided to get the "use no praxis kits, weapons or explosions' achive out of the way but it didn't give it to me :(
