been getting peed off with the slowness of my lappy with vista lately.
guessed it was due to the 512mb ram, so had a look on cpu-z and it said I had 4 ram slots, so I ordered 3x 512mb DDR2 4200 to make it up to 2048.
it came today, opened the lappy up and I only have 2 slots DOH!
so i have 1024 now and 1024 sitting in its packaging.
its made a big difference tho tbh i can actually use vista without feeling like punching the lappy, need to get 2x 1024 next tho :x
or swap back to xp where you only need 2gb tops
Having only 512MB is a real bottleneck for vista, although I can still remember getting windoze 3.11 running on 2MB! Bit slow though and I quickly upgraded to 4MB, which cost me £70 :o
I tried vista a week or so ago with 2gb and it seemed slow.
Are you running 64bit or 32 bit Vista?
I am running 32 bit vista with 1GB on a Sempron 2800 with average graphics card and have to say that it actually very nippy. Have heard performance issues with the 64bit version. Sounds like you need a very high spec with lots of RAM to run smoothly.
