Which is best in general? Cant find a white paper on it..

 I guess it affects DNS and SSL stuff?

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

.local can be anything as long as it isnt a proper fqdn.

I wouldnt use a proper fqdn on a lan. Just on a DMZ machine like a web server.
