I read about that the other day, theres a long contract, innit?

[q]The standard Redten Internet contract runs for three years. During this period youââ,¬â,,¢ll get comprehensive hardware, software and broadband telephone support and a three-year hardware warranty.[/q]
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Serious

A three year minimum contract would explain why. Ã,£720 and they give out an older PC worth a fraction of the value they claim.

Mongoose

sure its no uber gaming rig, and certainly wont be in 3 years time, but on the other hand it would surf the net very nicely.

I dont think its a deal that any of us would benefit from, but I think there are a lot of people in the world who would take advantage and be very happy with it.

If all you ever do is surf the net and write the odd letter or e-mail, 1GHz is more than enough never mind 3.

One thing does confuse me though, doesnt Vista have a minimum system requirement of 1GB of RAM? if so, how do they plan to run it on an LG with only 512megs, I hope theyve factored the RAM upgrade into their equations.

Pete

Definitely, a lot of people pay Ã,£20+ anyway, so it seems a good deal if youre happy wth a long contract.

512mb is the min for vista, 1gb is the recommended amount. I doubt itd do Aero tho.

Mongoose

yeah perhaps it was aero I was thinking of

Norphy

I tried running the Vista RC on a laptop with 512MB in it. Suffice to say, that laptop got a memory upgrade very quickly.

filbert

Looks to be a part of Watford Electronics, I wouldnt want it but for some it would be an ok deal.

Poison_UK

Problem is, 3 years is a bloomin long contract to complete.. What happens if you move house etc? Your a bit screwed there if you have to pay of the remaining months in a large sum.

Yes - so I emailed to ask them where they got my details from. I received an apologetic reply saying that their mailing company had used the Watford customer list and accidentally emailed everyone instead of only emailing those who said they wanted to receive emails from Watford. Fair enough. Not like the owners of Zebras website developers who are saying they have no connection with TekHeads at all, despite TH being an example on the developers site.
