I make no mention of the video content in question. That is not a relevant factor in my query. Is it better to copy the content to my HDD first or do an on the fly burn between the drives.

Any recommendations?

Not sure there was any need for the attitude there - I think my post was in good humour (and a reasonable question actually given the context).  I was only playing but frankly Im not inclined to help you now someone else can.

Welcome to the forums.

*sigh* @ Riv

Hi Willbo, If youre not fussed about Video then Nero should do what you need.

lol just ignore Riv :P

If you just want to copy from one DVD to another then on the fly is fine.  Modern disc drives all have such huge buffers/memory built into them these days that you can pretty much pick up the machine and shake it around while burning on the fly and itll burn fine.  doing the extra copy to hard disk in between is really for older drives.  All of the big DVD copy/clone programs can do straight video copies as they simply copy it as raw data.

If however you want to rencode the video to DivX or something then dont try and do it on the fly.  Youll want to rip it to the hard disk and then encode/edit it before burning it back onto the new DVD.  Youll need some illegal ripping software to pull the video off the DVD but thats pretty easy to find.  "DVD Jon" would be a good keyword for google if thats the route you wanted to go down :)

What? Come off it you dont introduce yourself to a new forum like that and expect help!? Try it on A/V and see how far you get.

I know were flagging membership a bit but Im not treading eggshells round everyone because of it.
