Wrote a DVD video a while back, worked fine, now when i chuck it in the PC i wrote it on it just locks up, another PC cant recognise the disc format but the 360 plays it back.. or it would but theres no sound due to the way i have it set up..
WTF is going on? these are 2 LG DVD-RW drives that just refuse to read it and one of them wrote it ffs..
Any ideas on what the hell is going on?
Cheers
plays back fine on my mums cheap dvd player downstairs.. have tried other videos on the same media that i wrote that on and its fine so i dont think the media is breaking down or anything.
I get the feeling these LG dvd writers are on their way out as iv been having problems with other stuff on them.
Anyone recommend a good replacement? reliable, high quality, read anything i throw at it.
LG H22N, theyre awesome.
Pioneer 111d :)
Personally I have a thing for LiteOns. The only drives Ive had so far without managing to kill them in various ways. Plus its really easy to turn of their region protection... 8)
I spent hours trawling through the cdfreaks forums, LG H22N seemed to be the best one that was readily available over here.
Well i have a:
LG GSA-H20L (having issues in under a year)
LG GSA-4163B (been going ages but now starting to fall over)
So i dunno LG dont scream longevity at me
There was an issue with DVD writer drives and some newer asus motherboards.
I have one of those LG drives (H20L) and they started doing what you described for a while. So I blew into the drive and the problem never came back.
tried that and its not helped, think they have had it
bloody not even reading pressed discs now :(
Mine resently started doing this after running windows update. Un-installed the drive from device manager and searched for new hardware to re-add... seems alright now.
