Title: Extending Wifi / Homemade Antenna?
Post by: Leon on June 25, 2008, 22:29:21 PM
Righty... Last night found out that by hanging out of the girls bedroom window with the laptop I can pickup the open wireless connection from the cafe down the road but its horribly low signal strenght and randomly disconnects. So... i either need a recommendation of a cheap USB / PCMI wifi card with exteranl wireless or some ideas on how to extend signal.

it helped but it still dropped the connection alot, so I had a brain wave and did this bit of bodging.

LOL

now I get Excellent signal strength and minimum 22Mbps all the time and no drops for over an hour.

Cordless phones, tumble dryer on, Freak of a person over electrical standing in front of an antenna for 5 mins.. The amount of things that effect them still is quite long
