Title: External Enclosures
Post by: Kunal on March 05, 2007, 15:20:35 PM
So Im planning on ordering a couple of WD 500Gb drives. Ill put one of them inside my HTPC (matching the existing WD500Gb) while I want to use the other as a transfer drive.

Itll spend most the time inside my server but I want to get an enclosure for when I want to transfer stuff from other peoples machines.

Any recommendations? Want something thatll take a 3.5" SATA drive, has USB2 and is relatively sleek. Not too expensive of course :)

Tried Span.com ?
usually best place for anything like that.

I use this at work.

Fantastic bit of kit.  Only trouble with recommending that is apparantly it has a 400GB limit, which I never knew untill now.

I think I might go for one of the external WD MyBooks and then get an internal as well.... by the time I add the cost of the enclosure it comes to about the same.

Shame the silver cased WD MyBook only comes in 1TB and costs Ã,£280! Woulda matched my setup otherwise.
