Hey all,
Last night my item on ebay ended and this morning i got an email on hotmail from PayPal that i have had a payment received and that i need to click on this paypal link to log in to receive my payment. So i clicked on this link and all it did was jsut display my PayPal summery but i noticed that there was £0.00 on my paypal account? :?: i noticed as well that the email i got was from sendemail@paypal.com and according to my mate he said that the email was a scam... great iv already entered my paypal username & password but iv now changed my PayPal password so hopefully i will be safe? there arnt any other dodgy recent transactions on my account either. Iv contacted PayPal by forwarding the so called dodgy email to there spoof@paypal.com address but i havent had no reply yet, i contact the seloler too and asked them about the payment but they just said that they sent the payment straight away last night without and problem and they said that it could be a problem with my PayPal account. Hhhmmm what do you guys think?
Thanks - Liam
Can you post the header info from the email?
Also check your comp for trojans etc etc.
Dont send anything until paypal contact you and give you some info.
And remember folks, never use a link to paypal thats included in an email.
The buyer has just cancelled the payment and hes jsut said that hes re-sent the payment again and iv got the same email again... but i havent clicked on anything on the email but still no money has appeared on my paypal account??? anyway here is the Header: "Notification of an Instant Purchase Payment for Item No.**********- Received from ************* (***********@btopenworld.com)"
thats not the full header, an example of a header is as follows...

Or any online banking / anything that involves money. Always type the URL in manually in a new window, and go via the front page.

This is easy. dont bother with the email just go directly to paypal and log in, if somebody has send you money/payment you will see all the details their, why bother with the email!!??
All sorted now guys :D turned out that PayPal was confused as i had 2 email addresses on my PayPal account so my receiving payment was "stuck" until i sorted out a primary email address out for all transactions lol.
Thanks all - Liam
