why do they use it, nothing supports it.
Sorry I dont mean web, who has a MP4, Archos, Phone that plays FLV.
What you on about what do you mean?
You do realise flv video is a big way to do video on websites now for many different uses.
You create your own flash player and you play external source videos through that player which are flv format - all over the web this is so to say no one supports/uses it is a bit wrong :P
If your moaning in regard to you cant rip it, yes you can..

QuoteTheres even YouTube Flash video support-- full .flv YouTube, not the mobile version. YouTube playback was excellent as long as the player had a decent WiFi signal. When using Opera, tap on a video thumbnail to open the video in a full-screen video playback window (unlike desktop browsers, it doesnt play directly in the web page).

my Archos doesnt even show the FLV, it shows the 10 Avi clips ive done.
my phone quite happily plays FLV. Woo for TCMP.
As for other phones, I believe Nokias now come with an embedded flash movie player and will play them fine.
When I encode from FLV to AVI, i have to choose mp3, my Archos will not play Avi with AC3, it needs me to download something from Archos, do they have a FLV codec.

The flash player on my N95 doesnt seem to play FLV. It picks the file up but it just comes up as a non-supported format. Iv heard that Adobe are currently in development in releasing a new version of the flash player for Nokia phones so you can play FLV files that you have downloaded onto your phone. If i am right the flash player thats imbedded in Nokia phones now is only for if you want to play vidoes on YouTube on your phone which works as there is a mobile based YouTube website that is avaliable to go on.
Liam
just got my kids the LG Shine, it doesnt play FLV,
