Title: ftp applications
Post by: shofty on November 06, 2006, 10:17:52 AM
anyone know any ftp application which i can install to a usb key so it doesnt leave any trace of itself on the pc?

im suffering some time with no net connection at home as im moving into rented for a month until my new house is ready. id like to ftp some website updates from a usb key which im going to take into work. but i dont want there to be any trace of what ive been doing at work. nothing doidgy, but i dont believe in affecting the standard build as it causes support issues.

so im thinking of an ftp app which doesnt write to the registry. which can run off usb key.

fireftp is a no no as we dont use firefox.
ftp through IE is a workaround, but id really like something which stores passwords and site details.

Portable (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=portable+ftp&btnG=Google+Search) is the key word ;)

WinSCP has an executable-only version, though it is an scp/sftp program not ftp.

voyager ftp used to be the one I used when I was abusing janet, ran off a burned cd, with no reg input.

no idea about what new versions are like though
