I cant believe that theyve stripped out the chip needed for backwards compatibility in order to cut costs, but passed no cost reduction onto European customers.

Oh yes, wait a year or so, then there will be a selction of games and developers will finnaly start taking advatnage of the console. Along with hopefully a more appealing price tag.

Could be an NTSC/PAL issue hence needing to be done in software? ie a hardware fault... A bit poo. I was hoping to play some PS2 games on my PS3.
