It will never come to the UK but its still interesting to see google moving into the ISP world. Plus they are rolling out their own cables so none of that piggybacking on already full services.

I'm so dearly sick of the BT monopoly in my area, I wish something like this would arrive here and level out the playing field, especially when you're a business user like myself who actually does need sustained quality of internet and decent transfer rates both up/down. Small companies really do get shafted here on all fronts.
Know someone in an area with this, I know they have it (cus they keep saying!) and the word is - FLIPPING AWESOME. All I tell him is "Bastard"
Basically its the sh*t, google doing it right, that coupled with google DNS etc - AWESOME.
That and what google have on the net though - Pretty much own you and know exactly what your doing on the web and using that info to drive adds to the right people etc - Scary. Always got to think what is their goals.
You using their net - It is like giving them your soul.

and I would give it freely.
If Google were to bring out actual androids that when I'm hungry shows me targetted ads for Danepak bacon to then suggest I buy some so it will make me a sandwich, it can have my soul too. Failing that, they could still have it for a Gigabit net connection.

You don't have to, google have analytics links to most sites on the web anyway. They know where you go.
