anyone know where I can buy these without buying a silencing kit?
I see maplins have them, but not sure the size I need.
They will be for the microserver to help silence the drives a bit.
Tekheads have always sold them, we used to have bags and bags of the things:

Are the drive cages in the microserver quite rattley?

no, not really - its quite quiet, but sometimes the drives spinning can cause vibration - especially copying files from one drive to another
that link is for fans.. guess I'll go to maplins & take screw with me
For fans but they are just small rubber gromets for the same size screws. Should be fine.
Haven't set up my Microserver yet so not sure if it will annoy me that much to bother but may have to do the same. Will they fit when using the hot swap bays?

I think they will fit the drive bays as they are quite flimsy. I have a wooden floor, so the whole chasis is that little bit noisy. I might just go & rip up some underflooring
stuff I have left over.
They should definitely fit the same, and if they are too much for the caddys you can always cut them in half, they work just as well.
