I was wondering if you guys have any ideas of what to use for a mouse mat when Im sitting on my bed with a wireless mouse? Me and the missus like to play puzzle/adventure/crime games together so I cant sit at the PC to do it. Is there anything designed for this job or is it a case of get a piece of wood?
Could just get a trackball :)
Takes about a day to get used to it and dont move it like a mouse but its the greatest thing Ive ever bought. My desk is always cluttered, it means I can use my computer without worrying about the mess :D lol, also doesnt pick up random crap from the desk over the sensor :D
If your playing puzzle and adventure games it sounds exactly like what you need. Go Optical obviously but yeah a trackball is what you want.
Just to clear things up after using one for nigh on a year, I no longer use a mouse to play FPS... I find myself so much better with the trackball accuracy is so much higher, im able to carry on firing that machine gun whilst keeping it central, without needing to do a constant drag.. lift technique :D lol, just spin the ball back and keep my fingers on the buttons :D
Its an option I guess but (for now) Id rather just use the wireless mouse and keyboard set I bought when Ebuyer were doing them cheap. Might look at a trackball on the future though cheers.

Tesco sell a flexible plastic cutting mat meant for the kitchen, it makes a fantastic mouse surface.
