So my bargain TV arrived this morning, generally very happy with it, perfect fit for my room.
Ive got a freeview box with HDMI output+upscaling with it - although at the moment Im only running it via a scart.
Is there any benefit for me to get a HDMI cable - will that give me "HD" (upscaled obviously), more so than over Scart?
/noob.
Id say go on amazon and buy one of the £2 HDMI leads. It should at least look better on your new TV because there is no analogue conversion going on like you have on SCART. Bit of a lame reason but I cba thinking any harder on a saturday morning.
Yes it should look better, and for the cost of £2 on a digital lead whyn not try it anyway?
Well, wandering round town this morning it seemed like it was more like £15-£40 to try it out which is a bit more of a decision - will grab one of those 2 squid jobbies from Amazon and see what happens now.

With analogue cables you might notice a quality difference, but unless you need a 20m or so run at which distance the signal might degrade a digital cable is a digital cable, so the Amazon one will be fine and you dont need a QED gold jobbie or anything special.
When using a 1 metre cable any would do, no point in spending loads on an expensive one when this meets the specification. Chances are nobody would ever notice the difference.
