I've just got my hands on the video which a friend of mine recorded for me at my wedding last year. At the moment it's just been recorded off the camera onto a DVD by my father in law, so it's a bit rough around the edges.
Does anyone do this sort of thing? do you have any recommendations for software, preferably freeware as this is pretty much a one off? Can be Windows or Linux as my desktop machine runs both.

Agreed, if you don't want to spend a large amount I'd say this will be better than any freeware alternative.
Alternatively I think you can still get fully functioning Adobe 30 day trials if you fancy learning Premiere, its a big a learning curve but very powerful.
