Thats mine after a recent gfx upgrade.
I think its going to take some ££ to raise it further than that!

Apart from a graphics card upgrade a good few months ago, Ive not
upgraded in a good few years.. would like some solid state drives tho
thats running windows 7

Windows 7
Im using a 2 * 1TB 7200RPM Stripe but its still slow. That said I have 8GB of RAM, so theres only noticeable disk lag when reading apps/files into RAM :)

Something wrong there... Im using a single sata WD500gb HDD, 6gb of ram & an athlon 6000+ x2 or whatever its called.. oldish cpu
(http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/2061/speedtestis.png)
I dont really trust the HD test.... I have 5 fast sata 2 disks in raid 0.... hardly make any difference compared to a single disk in the test..... but make s a massive difference when you actually use it
nimrod, what cpu do you have ? Ive got a core2duo going at 4ghz, itll do 4.4 easy but I had to up my fans to 7v which pissed me off so backed it off a bit
Im tempted to upgrade cpy/mb/ssd :o
Im running a Core i7 @ stock 2.8ghz :)
Im doing some investigation into drivers / bios updates as Im wondering if Ive got a weird bottle neck on the RAID chipset (or something).
wow been a while since we had benchmark type thread.
Here is mine:

spec as per sig, not bad for budget system.
I think my desktop needs some new hard drives, the one in my laptop is faster!

I think its just the benchmarks not working it out right..... Ive always run raid and theyve always been under rated in tests
benchmarking my raid array tops out at about 100meg sec read/write
but I can copy from my 2 backup dicks onto it, and get 90meg/sec from each (so 180meg/sec write)
and Im pretty sure thats maxing out the backup disks not the raid array.... I dont notice any slow down if I open other programs etc...

Sorry, I cannot get past this ;)
teehehehehe *over it*
My system is actually from Dell so anything could be happening inside it but then for what I paid Im not that bothered :)
I can run the 3 Windows XP Virtual Machines I need for development and all my other stuff whilst watching a 1080p mkv without any problems so who cares about a number :)

I dont think it makes any difference what HDDs you have mostly, unless its SSD, it probably only recognises SATA, SATAII, RAID and SSD as types or something, hence most people getting the same index. It would be interesting to know. It does seem to make the whole thing even more arbitrary than I first thought.
Processor 7.1 (E8600 clocked to 4.1 ghz)
Memory 7.1
Graphics 7.6 (4970 clocked )
Gaming Graphics 7.6
Primary hard Drive 7.2 (SSD)
Still got to work out how to get past Comodo firewall to use my FTP :)
Processor: 1.7
Memory: 4.0
Graphics: 1.9
Gaming Graphics: 1.0
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
Thats my EEEpc. Im still on XP on my main pc. Im tempted to nick the 8gb SSD and use it for my swap file..

doh, I try to blame in on the dyslexia.... but the sad fact is I make that very same typo pretty much every time I type the word disks....
also type ex-girl friends names instead of words that are even just a little bit like the name.....
guess Im on my way to be coming a gibbering nut job :w00t:
Yay its working.
Wow thats quite an amazing jump !
I think Clockd might be right in that it just scores the Disk based on its type. Theres no clever seek/read/write measurements going on :/

It happens to us all in the end m8. You should hear me on the phone when Im trying to explain something technical. I stammer like Brucie during Play your Cards Right :D

Just fitted a SSD, should have 7 on CPU as it was only clocked to 3.8Ghz not the normal 4GHz, I had flashed the bios before I installed the drive and set the FSB to low, had uploaded the pic before I noticed and couldnt be arsed doing it again lol Pretty happy seeing apart from the new drive it is basically a 2 year old system :)
nice..... which gfx card(s) are you running ?
must have cost a few quid to be old and still scoring well !
Opps forgot I updated my graphic cards in March, ...I currently have a pair of ATI 4890s which I managed to get second hand at just under £200 the pair ...I also changed mobo thinking about it! ...as I had a Sli board before that ...this comp is starting to sound like Triggers broom! lol I had a pair of really loud and hot running 8800 GTXs in it before the ATIs, I managed to sell them for £160 on ebay, the Atis are faster, a lot quieter and cool running :)
So the Ram, CPU, case and PSU are the only bits that are really 2 years old :P
The way that Win 7 rates components is very strange.
Shauns SLI 4890s score less than my single 4890.
Shauns SSD which is the same as mine scores more but i suppose Shaun has his
with AHCI mode enabled.
Most strange.
It doesn't appear to take crossfire into account at all for gaming, my cards are running at stock speed while yours is OC'ed, I would guess that's why you get a slightly higher score.
Yep I have AHCI mode enabled, looking at the comments on ebuyer a lot are getting the same score as me with it on, is yours the 50,000 IOPS version Steve?
TBH I don't thinks it's accurate as a benchmarking tool, maybe if it give results to one or 2 more decimal points it could be, but with how it is at the mo it is more a sort of rule of thumb than anything else :)
Quoteis yours the 50,000 IOPS version Steve?
Yup.
Just havent optimized it m8.Originally i had a dual boot with win Xp & the boot loader is on a drive
that doesnt support AHCI.When i do get around to a complete re-install ill disconnect the other drives
before installing.
Apparently if your HD does not support TRIM then the maximum you can score is 5.9 !
Just built my new machine:
Processor 7.5 (i7 9300 @ stock)
Memory 7.5
Graphics 7.7 (5850 @ stock)
Gaming Graphics 7.7
Primary hard Drive 5.9 (500GB samsung)
pity my budget didnt quite stretch to an SSD...
New Netbook
(http://www.prestone.co.uk/rick/laptop.jpg)
Pretty impressive I think for an 11.6" lappy!
Need to swap out the single 2Gb stick and put a matched pair in though, got to love the fact Acer dropped a single stick of cheap RAM in a performance netbook!
