Title: How many servers does it take
Post by: Pete on March 26, 2007, 17:41:49 PM
To run a vpn?

I read one site where they said one server for RRAS and another for IAS (RADIUS).

But then on another it says just use the new connection wizard.

If I do the latter is it still secure?

edit: So I went through the wizard on the server, how do I configure the clients and my router?

K rthe server has been set up. Ive forwarded PP2TP and IPsec on the router, Ive set the client connection with an IP of the external connection..

Should that work? I cant test it on the same connection, can I?

Just had a thought, my router is doing dhcp, do I need to turn that off and have the server do dhcp?

tested, works fine as far as i can see. You might want to check to see if VNC software works through it as well.  That is assuming you are using that and not an RDP setup.
