Ok the next time a film is on, Ill say Knighty said no, Ill link to this page.

at the same time Leila and her friend watched I am  Legend, Krystal and her friend watched, Grandma got run over by a Reindeer.
Leila and her friend took the piss, but IMO, Grandma got run over by a Reindeer is a funny film.

Edit: I do ban my Kids from watching, a lot  of film, they just watch  them somewhere else.

It was OK... but I wasnt really impressed by the graphics of the mutants. Looked very fake, dont think the CGI worked in that aspect.

The city looked awesome though. And Smiths performance was excellent... but I rate him pretty highly anyways. See the link below for a great interview with him regarding how he researched for the role.

The Zombies were clearly fake, even my kids noticed it, the Zombies in the
Resident Evil films, are the best.

Wow... just as Id expect from a child brought up on filth.

At the end of the day Leila, whoever let you watch those films at such a young age was:

a.) breaking the law
and...
b.) an irresponsible parent

I certainly wouldnt let any child of mine happily watch chucky, or similar movies. When they are older yes, but an infant aged 5, HELL NO.

Little Older (14 - 16) then theyll watch what they want, but no wonder your kids are screwed up in the head if you let them watch that crap at such a young age.

Someone clearly needs to batter both you and Jess with a parental clue stick.

A misunderstanding, the 5 year old watched Resident Evil 3, the 5 yr old is her cousin,
Leila watched Chucky at a Sleepover, gave me a lecture on ages, in her  opinion chucky should be a 15, chucky is very sweary, I personally hate swearing, its not necessary.

You dont have kids, if you did, youd be more flexible.

Leila is very intelligent, shes top in every class, plays football for the school, they had a sleepover, she downloaded Chucky on her laptop and took it to the sleepover.
dont try giving lectures on illegal downloads, she knows about it.

But then imaginary bear... vs human being.

Thats the difference.

Regardless if Leila is in fact a "Super - MAN" in a womans body, the average joe does find those films disturbing, and horrific... its the reason why its known as a horror movie. Young children should not be brought up around horrific sights, its your duty as a good parent to protect them from such things.

In my defence, I have no control over Leilas downloads, if she is told ill confiscate her laptop, shell download a film and burn it, id say shes probably a computer expert, she knows of XVID/DivX, she converts to DVD using winAvi, her PC skills are amazing, after school ask her to fix things.

Question, is it anything that 5 year old Iraqi kids havent seen in Iraq?

I most sincerely doubt it. Many have experienced being blown to bits or extremely badly burned in the war there, usually without seeing their attackers.

The possibility of violent death is something we have to live with, and usually young kids can cope a bit better than adults with this sort of thing.

Everything, the government is quite willing to go over and drop bombs on people, blow them to bits, burn em to death, and the kids there see it all. Hell, often they are it.

Yet fake the same sort of thing on film and its 18+

wtf?

Im with rob

what the hell has that got to do with anything ?

by your logic, hundreds of children are molested every year, therefor we should all sell our children to paedophiles ?

theres plenty of childless people going around saying how theyd be great parents, theyd be there kids friends, theyd be really cool, theyd let them set there own boundaries etc. etc. etc.. which is fine for childless morons, but once you have kids / take care of kids you have to wake up and realise that kind of parenting is unacceptable.   you have to do whats best for your kids, not whats easiest or takes the least amount of effort on your part.

its no wonder kids these days are a waste of space, they know nothing about boundaries, and its there parents fault.

I saw Evita when I was 15 or 16. That stuff stays with you. Sometimes you go a week, a month maybe without thinking about it. But then you see a picture of Madonna and it triggers something. You flip the page with a laugh but your final waking thought of the day is about how youre gonna wake up in a cold sweat, screaming for it to stop. I cry for Argentina. Oh, yes.

It would be very difficult for privateer to keep a tight eye on his kids because of his health. And the best any parent can do may not be enough. OK, some of it is bad parenting, but some of it is the childrens friends too.

My friends were some bad characters, several went to prison repeatedly on varying charges. I certainly learned stuff from them that, perhaps, I shouldnt know. But I ended up on the opposite side of the desk to them in NACRO and I have only ever used the skills taught to me for the good of those around me.

Righty.... Back on topic.

Watched it the other night and tbh I wasnt impressed. Will Smith played a good part but the CGI was just awful and the story was very lacking, I spent most of the movie waiting for something to happen and then wham 20min and its all over.

As Dooms said, seemed to start well enough until the car was CGId to hell and back, strangely they were now living in a world where grass was growing through a tarmacked road (and no it wasnt broken).

The film seemed chopped, there was no explanation for why he sprayed liquid behind himself (although you can guess) and in the scene with the bathtub he falls asleep and then wakes up in bed! Ghey.

It was very drawn out, the bits that were left in had not much going for them, sadly.

Could have been so much more.

Thought it was pretty darn good! Overall I enjoyed the film. There was alot of niggles in it that got at me though.

I noticed the bathtub thing.. Also, what was up with the helicopter scene? I was kind of dissapointed it didnt show anything after the other heli started to lose control.

My girlfriend cried when he had to put down sam his dog. heh

Also, couldnt work out whether the trap he got stuck in was one hed set up himself or if one of the cleverer zombies had set it up?

I thought the film was good overall, the trap I think was set up by the zombie he pissed off (by stealing his woman for experiments presumably).

The one point that niggled me (aside from the poor CGI in parts) was the ability of the infected to knock an SUV over by headbutting it at speed without killing themselves, and also smash through a very thick glass screen using the same method.

Id be interested to see if the infected are super strong with bones akin to steel in the book also or if that was a boardroom decision to spice things up!!!.

Saw this last night, thoroughly disappointed. I thought it might have had something up until the daft, abrupt ending. The ending totally spoiled it imo. Total waste of a film that ending.

No explanation was given as to why the antagonists exhibited superhuman ability.

The CG also looked ridiculous - impressive maybe in 2000 but not nowadays!

Just come back from seeing I Am Legend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Admittedly the CG monsters were a bit iffy in places but it didnt detract from my enjoyment of the film. The only two needless parts were a rather steroid-laden Will Smith gets his kit off to exercise (for the ladies I presume?) And the gratuitous car porn a-la the Shelby GT-500 that wasnt used apart from a few shots in the opening of the film. It was exactly what I wanted from a post-apocalyptic film and I really thought it did a much better job with the source material than The Last Man On Earth and The Omega Man. I felt the ending was logical and well placed and came at just the right time and Will Smith did an excellent job with the role, particularly the scenes hinting at the on-set of humanity. The twist was intact as well although I know a lot of people seemed to miss it.

Ill definitely be picking this one up on DVD and really look forward to watching it again. I can understand why there is a lot of criticism about the film, if you go in expecting a zombie flick youll be sorely disappointed, and youll also be left a bit despondent if you expect typical Will Smith action man/tongue in cheek adventure. It does leave a lot to the imagination and it asks more questions than it answers but thats exactly what I like from a great film, I hate cheesy dialogue and daft comments that have been forced into films just to explain things that the audience really should be able to figure out for themselves ("we learned earths languages from the world wide web" a-la Transformers springs to mind"). In my opinion its a solid 8/10, although a lot of people in the cinema seemed to think differently from what I could overhear when everyone left the auditorium. That said I thought 28 Days Later (another post-apocalyptic zombie style film that springs to mind) was abysmal and everyone I know seemed to enjoy it. I cant put my finger on exactly why but it seems to be a real "love it or hate it" marmite type of film.

my friends and i went to see it on boxing day. it took me all bleeding day to organise it so everyone would go and i was really looking forward to it. imagine my suprise when i came out of the cinema feeling rather disappointed. it was an ok film, but the ending was crap and it could have been a hell of a lot better than it was. i kinda felt a bit like id been cheated out of my money.

I know it was based on something else but 48 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/48-James-Herbert/dp/0006476007/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199378076&sr=8-1) has a fairly similar setup and is worth a look if you liked I Am Legend.

Really it was the framing of the shot and the upturned eyes. We all know Cornholio is more attractive than the rest of us.

Speaking of which, I miss Wizbit.
