I will move it to general hardware later ;)

Providing you arent going for all out games performance it will do you very well. TBH with the wide, high resolution screen its tempting at least.

You can use a USB dongle to watch freeview on almost any computer, the issue with this is that you need one that will pick up the signal in your area. Some dont have a good signal reception capability.

They are the company that has taken over the IBM harward division..

Well specced and very competively priced laptops at the moment, just got one for the kids and the build quality looks pretty good..

This one in fact..except it seems to have come with 256mb video ram according to display properties ?

edit - just realised you probably meant the retailer...

Some of them will vary slightly and there is the possibility of them getting the specification wrong too.

Great computer, its the company that bought out the IBM lappie division...but totally overkill.

For net and DVD, you can get a 2nd hand thats plenty powerful for 1/3 to 1/2 the price. There are even a few new models that run half that. Theres not a laptop on the market these days that doesnt do DVD.

If you truly need the HP and a durable laptop, then the Lenovo is a decent choice, but it may just be throwing good money at a small problem.
