I bought the bits from a new system unit from tekheads. It went together without problem and seemed to work perfectly - until I tried running 3dmark tests. It would run for a few minutes at best and then crashed.
Oblivion did the same, as did stalker.
So I tried stress testing the CPU, which it completed without any problem, it didnt go above 38C.
Next I used the mobo probe software to see what the voltages were. These were most definitely red 1.2VHT=1.5V DDR2TERM = 1.14 AND MEMORY 2.27.
So which bits are the problem, it might be the PSU, which I have a problem with anyway so its got to go back (one of the connectors fits but it has a screw ring to fix it onto the PSU and it just slips over the thread.)
It could be the motherboard, or could it be the memory?
Any ideas or do peeps agree with just sending the whole lot back as is and seeing if they can sort it? TBH its a damn good unit.
And while Im on does anyone know of an internal 5.25" internal card reader? :dunno: The case lacks any 3.5" openings
Perhaps its a VGA card problem, as the games are where it really suffers. Id try another graphics card first, then try memtest (can be found on Hiren 9.0 disk).
Cheers
Tongy
Is it BSODing, or does it just crash out?
If its BSODing then I would say PSU is underpowering GFX.
Full spec would be helpful.
Does the GFX have an extra power plug ?

Its BSODing but the PSU should be more than enough to handle it, crikely I only have a single 880GTS in there, not a pair of GTXs :o

Looking on M$ site I get
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891722/en-us = useless
TBH I think it relates to a video problem but it could be corruption at any point.

Seems most likely. I had shedloads of the IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO Erros when i built mine recently.

still my default shop TBH, though Microdirect has taken over a bit in recent times.
