Title: Mass Effect 3 Fail
Post by: Bacon on July 12, 2011, 12:13:08 PM
Mass Effect 3 N7 (Digital) Deluxe Edition with:

QuoteDigital commemorative artwork of Commander Shepard.
70-page Digital art book featuring hundreds of unique and gorgeous illustrations from the BioWare development team.
Limited edition Mass Effect digital comic by Dark Horse Comics, complete with unique cover artwork.
Exclusive Digital 4x6 lithographic featuring a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.

So let me get this straight, £55 for all that and more but its all Digital so WTF?

Do EA want to go bust? Have they employed a moron to think this stuff up? Your thoughts.

Saw this before and thought similar. I mean fair enough if you get the hard copy but I think its extremely pointless in digital format (and hey it will be online to download a few hours after release :P)

I have the art book from the 1st one and thought it was very good at the time... and even better now I see that it seems to go on Ebay for 60-70 :P

On a serious note, does anyone know if they have put the 'proper' weapons back into 3, I hated the way they watered it down massively in 2

They released some proper Lithographs for ME2, and they looked great!

I skipped the cutscenes as much as possible to not spoil anything, it seems pretty good, but the frame rate on the PS3 at least is a bit dicey at times  :worried:

GAME is in serious trouble, I think its time to spend any kind of credit you may have with the shops they own.

Been reading up on that, They wanted some sort of new credit and payment deals, I guess they basically were asking "We can not pay you now but when we sell xxxx of them we will give you the money for the stock cus we are struggling at the moment and still need to give our CEO's a payrise."

And I bet EA went "NO" and I bet they wont be the only ones.
The new Xbox when it gets announced likely at E3 this year for release next year it will make it ni on impossible to play used games on it. Game will die if not this year, next year.

It's not a case of Game will die, it's a case of major brand retail video game shops will die. Game Group PLC is the last major player in Europe and will take Game station with it.

Doesn't seem that long ago they started the whole thing up and I went for a job interview as 16/17 year old looking for part time work.

Late adoption to digital formats is an issue they simply can't compete with online retailers, also it was only a few months ago the last time i tried to buy a game on Steam and funnily enough i couldn't because Game had used their 'so called' buying power to make sure they had sole distribution/launch rights on that game.

I also read somewhere this would be a good opportunity for Gamestop to move over from Ireland, if Game/Station goes belly up Gamestop could make use of all those retail locations to expand.

Overall though it sucks big time as more an more stores vanish so does PC game availability on the high street, i for one like boxed copies but i will admit to buying more digital copies in recent months.

I always have loved boxed copies, having a proper disc with the game on, the artwork, a proper manual, etc. Hence me spunking good money on the D3 Collector's Edition as I feel its worth it. But when the high street retailers have such poor availability and are charging excessively compared to online, people will obviously vote with their keyboards instead of their feet, buying online via Steam et al.

I personally wouldn't buy from steam if there was any other option at all.

I guess Origin has gained a customer then.
