ny problem is not caused by any driver cause it happens at the bios boot screen also , it has to be the gfx card moving slightly so it must be the mobo slot or cause the weight of the card ?

Try laying the computer on its side, and test it in games, if it doesnt do it, it may support your theory that the card is to heavy for the slot and thus sliding and pulling itself from the slot.

However they are usually quite firmly in place when screwed in, and the clip at the back of the slot positioned on the back end of the card.

At least if you do this you might have something to go back to the retailer with.

if its pulling itself out of the slot then is it screwed into the backplate properly?

my case is the coolermaster cm690 which is tool less , but i have put a screw in it but the rear of the card seems like it sags a little after a few days . tried everything i can think of to sort this except tiewrapping the rear of the card via the power cable so it stays level

I think you answered your own question. It seems apparent the issue spawns from the fact that the card slips from the slot.

How heavy is the fan assembly on your videocard?, if its weighted down, you could either change the cooler or try and return the card, i would say its not fit for its purpose. Others might disagree, as im sure the retailer will, but just explain the situation, or put up with it.

you could get a stick, and prop up the corner of the card via the PCIe power socket to stop it shifting. Just dont move your PC afterwards.

Whats wrong with a quality bodge?

As for the 4870, good choice, I wanted one but cant afford one so had to get 4850. Might get a decent cooler for it one day and clock it to near-4870 speeds. Once I get a quieter PSU, that is
