just finished playing sc2 and noticed an odd problem with my 3 month old monitor , it has just started with this issue and nothing i try has worked .
is it borked ? , it is the Acer v243Hlbmd 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

i have been to the store where i purchased it and he said i would need to contact acer , which i did on his phone . acer gave me details to arrange for the courier so i had to contact DHL to get them to collect it . they also said do not send it in the box it came in due to not enough packaging , i will need to wrap it in 5cm thick bubblewrap at least (cost me £12) .
if it is damaged by DHL during transport i would have to pay for the repair , and if it is a monitor software problem i would have to pay £68.50 for the repair as this is not covered . i puchased this monitor on the 30th of april this year and i am very unhappy about this , they tried to make it sound like i had damaged it  . it has been on my desk since new so how can i of damaged it , sound like acer is cr@p tbh as it seems a very poor warranty service they provide

I know its no use now, but next time listen to my countless droning on about Dell Warranty offered by PCBuyit, it is second to none, even in the case you could be unlucky with quality or fault from new they will replace in less than 24 hours, no quibble.

That sounds like appalling service, I guess the problem with buying displays from manufacturers not regarded for their panels is service like this, its one of the reasons Id not stray from buying a Dell panel.

As Egg pointed out it looks like a backlight issue though so should be covered. Im equally surprised that apparently the manufacturers packing isnt good enough!

I have to say your experiences with Acer support doesnt seem typical to me. Ive always used Acer monitors and laptops, and what few problems I have had have been sorted out incredibly quickly and efficiently.

chaotic_uk

The last time I sent a monitor back it was fixed the day after it arrived and sent straight back out to me via courier.

Your contract is with the store not Acer, they have to deal with it, SOGA
3 months old and you let them con you in to sending it back with no warranty if it gets damaged.

Unless you bought it trade?

chaotic_uk

acer does the return for repair , they told me this over the phone and they paid for shipping

chaotic_uk

strange it is not showing on the tracking info

If their packaging was good enough to get it to you then it should have been good enough to return it to them. If not they should send you the packaging they want it returned in.

As for it being damaged en-route, that is the couriers problem, not yours. If they pay for transport then they claim off the courier for damage while it is being transported.
