QuoteWhen Gearbox acquired the franchise, we didn't do it just to make sure we could play Duke Forever, but because we wanted to make our own Duke game,' said Pitchford. 'Soon we'll talk about that, but not today.
QuotePublisher Take-Two has previously promised that another Duke title is in development too.
And whats this, DLC you say?
QuotePitchford also promised future DLC for Duke Nukem Forever, which was released earlier this year after a torturous decade in development.
I for one won't be bothering (http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2011/08/31/gearbox-confirms-new-duke-nukem-game/1).
QuoteI think you're really going to like the DLC coming out that's being developed by the guys that actually made Duke Nukem Forever
QuoteThis DLC re-writes the entire game engine, all content and levels and provides a new fresh online experience
Oh sorry, was dreaming for a second there
DLC should be classic DN3D levels, with classic monsters and updated graphics. Then they would shift it.
They would still break it! OK SO HERE ARE THE CLASSIC LEVELS! YEAH!
did we mention we put a NEW COVER SYSTEM IN!?
IMO if you need a cover system in games you're obviously not killing stuff fast enough!
I for one welcome our DLC overlords.
To be fair in terms of a new game..
They did have to pick up and finish a game that already had the artwork, gameplay, style, concepts and all that.
They did make borderlands which is good.
If you take Duke and properly use a modern engine and modern FPS game concepts something good may come of it.
The new Serious sam is keeping the concepts that made the game but under the new FPS umbrella and that does look good.
Side not have you see Rage recently? They have optimised the hell out of that new Tech5 Engine and I saw it running on an Xbox from Pax and HOLY CRAP!!
That engine looks amazing. Yeah you got to like their style of game but I hope other companies start picking up the engine to make games.
Unreal is bloody amazing but it would just be nice to see games being made on another engine.
