Someone posted that before, defiantly cool, Apple has got features in their os that ms only just doing. Indeed spangley for windows but they do not offer much new new stuff apart from the stupidly secure crap stuff it has.
dont like the wobble on it though personally
The thing about this (its called compiz, or theres a fork called beryl which is better) is that its completely customisable. You can turn the wobble off, or set a higher elastic constant so the wobble is smaller.
I want windows that melt like the paraffin Nazis in Raiders of the Lost Ark. :D
Some lovely effects but what do they do ?

Er, look nice :S I suppose it extends your desktop as well as give you the 4 desktop screens that linux gives you.

Theres a zoom function thats useful, i also like the window picker (where the windows all shrink and get arranged so you can see them all).
Basically its sod all use.

A bit like super-models then. Nice to look at, but really not going to change anything, except from one frock to another.

Using Beryl, Ive got most of the effects turned off. The really useful ones are Cube, Zoom and Window Picker.
Moving between multiple desktops in 3D is really useful IMO, especially if you turn transparency on for the whole cube.
Plugins for Beryl that duplicate the functionality of Aero (flip 3D, flip 2D, live thumbnails (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Aero#Requirements)) either have (anyone know?) or will inevitably be written as Beryl/Compiz matures...thats the greatest strength of open-source*. :)
*Yes, there are original ideas in FOSS too... :P

Some of its really useful like the expose bit and being able to zoom easily.
Most of its just for show.

No difference really from M$ offerings

pretty much, i like multiple desktops (and MS Powertoys arent much good TBH), but that type of thing is a real waste of time.
