I need some software so i can edit my mp3s so they make better ring tones etc. mainly just cutting out long or quiet intros and stuff.
anyone recomend anything?
Audacity will do the job nice and easily.

Audacity is great for simplicity. Sound Forge is the daddy IMO though.

Audacity = Free as in beer, not as in speech. And has numerous plug-ins for it. Think it even supports VST stuff from cubase.
Wavelab used to good but as its by the same people who do cubase, its also $$$
Or you could just get Cubase :)
Quality software, my brother uses it a hell of a lot :)

Cubase is the greatest thing ever if your using it for VST plugins. For straight recording/editing I much prefer Pro Tools. To be honest though Id hate to be without either of them! :D

Oh yeah for a free solution its incredible dont get me wrong! Didnt know it supported VST - that could come in useful actually....
Audacity is a free clone of what Cool Edit was, which was equally powerful in capable hands.
Still use Cool Edit - didnt it later become Adobe Audition?
