Title: Music Sites + Publications
Post by: Kunal on June 28, 2007, 12:04:17 PM
Doing a bit of research:

What music sites do you guys visit? This exludes any artist sites but includes everything else: label sites, general music sites, stores, listening sites etc.

Also which publications - this can be dedicated to a genre or not - even the likes of a newspaper (i.e. The Guardian)

To kick it off I visit:

liveplasma.com
pandora.com
fabriclondon.com

Fabrics newsletters are full of junk.

Ill very rarely read Rolling Stone or NME, sometimes visit Allmusic.com as much as I hate it, or nme.com.

i like to visit Discogs occasionally, to add submit my vinyl releases which arent on the database yet, and to explore new artists from labels and to see what else they produced/remixed. Its the Bible of Electronic music, but i dunno about other genres. http://www.discogs.com

I like to visit http://www.audiojelly.com and http://www.beatport.com to view any new releases on mp3/wave format

I used to buy Mixmag a lot, but its wholey biased towards house music, kinda irritating for me. Their reviews are prone to errors and can be months old by the time the magazine hits the shelf. Ive stopped buying it now.
