picked this up today (6ft/180cm) dish ..thats a 2 liter lemonade bottle for scale ....... hopefully ill pick a few more networks up with it, the feed arms are sh*t tho, end up being miles away from the focus .. oh well gona give me months maybe years of play time ....

dunno about that, i think the regs for wifi say ur not allowed to have a mounted external antenna on a building, unless u get a licence for it i think? ... but i wont be mounting it on the building, its to big winds around hear would kill it .. but for using as it was intened for satellite i dont think u need one .... but got it to mess with long distance wifi links ...

Ive just helped to set up a 1km wireless link and the dish we used was only about 30-40cm.

probably not quite the moon but i wanna go pritty far... wont be doing no records with it, its way to small . now if i used this one as a template to make say 6 more i could prossibly get real far

you cant mount a satellite dish over 1m without planning permission. BUt these arent mounted as they come with their own stand
I have one of those.. 2,4m though - make sure you get a good LNB feedhorn, the fortec aint the best in the world, but they are cheap - especially from Maplins :oD

new u wouldnt need planning permission to use as a satalitte dish .. but i wanna use it for all sorts of stuff .. wifi to start with .. trying to figure out best feed atm ... thinking of maybe turing it into a compund radio telescope type config .. should make it alot more efficient but a nightmare to set up and make refelctor

yeah got mine from maplins, would have liked the 2.4m one but dont have enough space for that one
the quality isnt that good on this but there cheap, gonna have to alter loads

Invacom C120 Feedhorn & Invacom C120 Lnb is what you want for that dish. You will prob need to buy a feedhorn clamp as well
By the time youve bought them, theyll prob cost more than the dish :-/

wont be getting to that for a while i want to change it to a Gregorian config and use it for wifi 1st .....
and at that config id have to make my own feeds cos all the angles would be wrong trying to find the best thing to use to give me a really narrow beam so i can keep the 2nd reflector reallly small .. are there any Lnbs out there that dont come coupled with the horns or perticular horns?
