Microsoft Game Studios have announced today that they have bought Lionhead Studios, creators of Fable, Black and White and The Movies. They will begin working immediately on titles for the Xbox 360 and Windows platforms.

If it does hit Vista only, a large amount of people will just jump ship and leave windows simple as that...

I read that Ubisoft are pretty unhappy about this since they thought they had the deal in the bag.  Fable did quite well for MS at a guess so I expect we shall see Fable 2

Did you leave Windows because games stopped running on Win9x?  The only companies that will do this will be MS companies, no one else.  They cannot afford to limit their market in such a way whereas MS can because they will make more money from the sale of Windows.

Strange that he sold out really, iirc the whole reason Molyneux left Bullfrog and started up Lionhead is because he wanted to leave the corporate culture of EA and have creative freedom. Now hes been bought out by another large corporation. Will he start another studio now I wonder? :P

Lionhead were in the poo financially.  Sometime last year they announced a big investment from a venture capitalist.  Then B&W2 and The Movies sold very few copies leaving them short for cash and now way to pay up.  Their only option was to find a suitor.  It would not surprise me if Peter did not consider any offers from EA.
