Im actually using it for my Xbox 360
i dont know how powerful these things are, but is it really necessary for an xbox 360?
mine is sometimes on for 12 hours at a time...
there are specific 360 coolers tho..
They work great on laptops (we have a few at work), dont know about 360 though.
my little brother has the 2nd one and really likes it, works great too.... dont know anything about the 1st tho :o
p.s. Im guessing your exbox must be getting too hot for your liking... and as youre thinking about ma laptop cooler... its mostly the bottom that gets hot ?..... have you tried lifting it up onto something, like sticking it ontop of a couple or beer cans etc... (empty of course) just so theres more room for air flow ?
Hi guys cheers for the comments. Actually theres nothing wrong with my xbox at all, however as the single last remaining one of my friends who hasnt had to send theirs back to Microripoff this is more of a preventative measure than a cure. I already make sure the airflow around the xbox is really good. The reason Im looking at these is the top one was recommended as a great xbox 360 cooler and then I just saw the other one which has great reviews on amazon.
In relation to the proper 360 coolers Ive heard good things and nightmare stories. Some people have had them melt to the back of their xbox (intercooler) and in some cases they have made the airflow worse so Id rather just go for a fan tray that cant really do any harm.
...Maybe Ill just buy a fridge to put it in? :D

If its going to die, its going to die, its inevitable. All you are doing is if youre lucky at best prolonging how long its going to take to fail

Hmm not sure I agree with you there. If theyre failing because theyre getting too hot then cooling them can only be a good thing. Thats just common sense. Besides even if you are right, if a £20.00 cooler will prolong its life span then its £20.00 well spent.
Dont get me wrong Im not a person who tries to wrap everything in cotton wool by any means - my consoles get hot, my guitars have scratches and VHS tapes all wore out in the end! However if I can prolong the life of something with a little proactivity then Ill do.

Prolonging it for how long though, just until the warranty period runs out? Fair does if not and its out of warranty, but if it is, and youre that bothered, take it apart and put some decent thermal compound on the GPU/CPU connections (again, ive done this on mine, still the GPU died again...)
Honestly, its luck of the draw, if you have a crap box it will die on you, regardless of if you put a hurricane inside to cool it down :(

I hear what your saying and your probably right. I think at the end of the day though as long as I feel like Ive done everything I can after that like you say its luck of the draw.

thats the dreaded intercooler. Talk about a kill it or cure it fix - so many people have had these melt to the back of the xbox and microsoft have officially stated they wont support a console that shows signs of having had one attached so Im steering clear.
