Post by: M3ta7h3ad on January 07, 2007, 11:01:11 AM
Ah Ive fallen for it.

Everyone else getting new computers makes me want to have one too.

Now I currently have the following.

Athlon XP 2500+ mobile
NF7-S V2 motherboard
1.5GB (3 x 512) PC3200 DDR ram.
bunch o hard drives (IDE)
CD writer & DVD writer.
Hiper Type R 580w PSU.
PCI Audigy 2 zs
AGP 9800pro 128mb
PCI IDE Raid card (I have 5 hard drives see)

Now im currently looking at buying...

Ã,£170 or just under for that, reckon its worth it? :\

Id obviously reuse the rest of my stuff to fill in the gaps.

While my graphics card could do with beefing up its not urgent and the games I play (DOD:Source for example) dont really require beefing up for.

I suggest spending the Ã,£15 more for a 3800+ CPU. Should give you a bit more punch. The 3200 wont really be that noticeable for the money and you loose 512mb of ram.

I have for all intents and purposes a virtually identical computer to yours ATM and Im going to wait another month before I bother upgrading.
