Title: Processor Question
Post by: Quixoticish on January 05, 2007, 14:47:00 PM
Im currently running an XP1700+ at 2000Mhz, and Im trying to get a little bit of life out of my NF7S 2.0 before resigning it to the scrap heap. Would I see any noticable performance increase upgrading to an XP3200+ or wouldnt it really matter? I ask because I know the 3200+ only runs 200Mhz faster than my current CPU but there are other bits and bobs on the chip that may give me a little bit more peformance for the measly price they sell for these days.

I figure Ill pick up a 7800GS to upgrade my 9800XT and another gig of RAM and then call it a day with this PC and start shopping for another in the future.

Wouldnt bother upgrading your graphics or processor.

Ram... maybe, but Graphics would have to be AGP, and processor... no real benefit to it, how often is your processor tasked at 100%??

Save the dosh, sell on the NF7-S I sold on some Socket A gear recently and made about Ã,£70 all told on a motherboard and some ram. Granted I would have paid Ã,£150 on it at the start but it served its purpose, and twas a fairly good return.
