My brother is visiting a Tesco Extra store on the Wirral tonight and it seems Tesco has got in on the act with bundles.  PS3 + 2 games + 1 controller for £484.99 which doesnt seem too bad.  The store has 28 units, and the number of people queueing for them to buy at midnight....

0!

Virgin Megastore gave away 150 46" Bravia Plasmas with every order collected at Midnight....damn, that would have been worth it.

I was thinking the exact samething when I read about that. I would happily spend £500 on a TV and treat the PS3 as a £300 rebate coupon; redeemable via ebay :)

...Has anyone on this Sony hating forum bought one yet ? If so, whats it like ? Does it look the nuts ?

Its currently updating.  Very reflective.

I have to go over to my brothers to pick up a 2nd controller.  Shame all the games I have got are 1 player :(

A mate of mine made a packet flogging wiis on ebay.

He told me about his new PS3 moneymaking scheme - bid up to the RRP on ebay, then use the receipts to get a refund back at the original store

Its a joke...

PS3s are selling for well below RRP on eBay...so you buy it on eBay for below RRP and then take it back to the shop for a refund = money for a little bit of effort.

Its about time Sony got stuffed over, with the way they have treated customers for the last 5 years.

One thing to bare in mind is that the PS3 box is quite heavy:

The best thing about that is that it will have cost him a small fortune just to list it with that BIN price. LOL.

I was once very interested in buying one, now I just dont care about it. If it flops its Sonys own fault.

Yes all of £3.25 as far as i understand, so not likely to break his bank

And commission on that will be a fair bit, but we probably not even talking £50

Ive been reading PS3 stuff all day, a lot of sites slagging off the traders who wanted to make a quick profit, lastnight prices might have been low but they seem to be creeping back up again now

But £485 for the setup wasnt it, they will sell just sly of that i reckon on ebay, but tbh i would rather pay the full amount get a receipt from the store than buy off of some dodgy ebay dealer.

Not that i will ever buy, imo consoles are crap after the king of all consoles, the Super Nintendo! :D

I got mine today with Motorstorm, its alright, probs going to chuck linux on it and stuff.

Ordered Casino Royale on BD today from dvd.co.uk for £12.99 inc del, before you start scratching your heads wondering why I didnt get the free one for registering my ps3, the big weakness that the ps3 had was fixed in firmware 1.54, euro ps3s ship with 1.50, if you want casino royale for free you MUST upgrade to 1.60...

Is that the version where you can get round the hypervisor?

Nice thing to do but a few hundred tvs in an entire uk launch is hardly kind hearted.

/Edit, (dont ask me why the link points there)

No point in starting a PS3 network ID thread then since it would just be me in it :)

Resistance is very good.  I have had the pleasure of watching my mates play through it until very near the end.  Fortunately I slept through a bit of them playing so I should have a few surprises waiting for me when I start to play it through for myself.

Motorstorm is a blast but the buggys seem very slow compared to how you think they would perform.  The is the game I expected my mates to play the most.

Genji hasnt been touched. :)  I should have F1 in the next few days.

The Xross Bar Interface works very well, however it would be nice if you could hide empty items or at least reorder the items.

Probably atm yeah

I considered getting this but tbh I tire of FPS games very quickly, been there done that, so didnt bother.

I only bothered to get Motorstorm, it plays pretty well, vehicle select screen runs a bit slow for a next gen machine though.

Motorstorm doesnt use the HD as a cache thus load times can be unbareably slow.  F1 came today, but I stuck Resistance on for a good quick blast for an hour.

What really gripes me is the whole thing about Euro PS3s missing this so called PS2 chip while the US/Asian ones have it. And they only pay £305 for this superior unit while the Euro one comes in at over £120 more for one thats been stripped down.

Microsoft did it and they gave people a free game, Sony do that and they will have to do the same.
