Thats just stupid!
Yet again its the consumer getting f**ked over!
Every time you think Sony take a step forward its two steps back.
Another reason why not to buy a ps3

It is funny, a lot of the time harsh comments toward a company are based on things around them and other things doing better and better products but the PS3 is the better machine in concept but has some flaws But the biggest thing and issue that has been with it is Sony themselves in all areas just screwing up big time continually and gone from number 1 to number 2/3 out of 3 in one quick swoop and for someone who had the market share and the fans from 2 consoles as well as the stupid amount of games and developers on board too loosing it all loosing virtually all their exclusive titles and where they have kept them the names that made the games going elsewere it is just an amazing fall.
What is more amazing is Sony being so stuck up (bar a few of the big wigs mind) and just refusing to admit their errors..
I think one big mistake has been them putting a lot and to much in the hands of one bold git who has screwed them hard and if Home flops He should be chucked (I think home will flop since there will to much faffing about to just play a game with a group of friends or do something like watch a movie)
Funny also when its pointed out to you that the actual pics of the PS3 in question on that site show that its ridiculously dusty and I have to agree in Sony refusing to replace it. It looks like they emptied 10 vacuum cleaners over it.

That is not dusty.
Perhaps, but not doing it might lose them sales. They should have done it anyway.
Ive just done the annual clean out of the HSF on my old Athlon 2500+ and it had a thin layer of fluff on it. Most things gather some dust over the years but that looks like its got more than things I have which are ten years old.
ps3s make f**king great doorstops, or anvils for when you are forging.
Fact that he said he cleaned it before he sent it you got to take into account, it must have been caked in the stuff, take that some clumps would have fallen off taking it out the box as well that is a lot.
I do not know about not repairing or replacing it becuase it is too dirty but he was not telling the truth about how dusty that was.
Thats insanely dusty. Theres no way in hell the CF/SD/MS slots can get that much dust in them unless you tip the console on its side and pour it in.
How the hell is it possible to get it that dusty in the time its been out?! If hes been kept in his entertainment system all the time with all his other kit i dread to think what that other kit is like...
Maybe his living room is like the ash falling when I volcano is errupting.
Stupid not to clean it off before sending it. I once got a compaq that still worked !!! that was much dustier and greasy that had been used in a McDonald kitchen, I tell you that it was really dirty toke a while to clean it (outside was quite ok but the inside !!!) I am still amazed that it worked, even the CD player worked !!!
If you play the sony in vacuum it will have no cooling better to have a vacuum cleaner on att all times next to it :D
