Anyone been listening to Radio1 today?
Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave are going for a world record by having a 50hour radio show in aid of Red Nose Day, they have been on since 0630 so far.
I listen to R1 most days in the van and dont mind Chris Moyles, I know he is like Marmite but whatever you think of him 50hours without sleep is going to be pretty tough.
I'm finding it hard listening to the music that is being played now tho :-\
I've donated a couple of quid so far and will do some more as the challenge goes on.
You can watch/listen on bbc webby or red button on tv.

No
talksport ftw
I applaud that he does charity stuff like this, but IMO the best thing about the climbing Kilimanjaro expedition was that it got Moyles off the air for a few weeks. Can't put up with the man.
He's being replaced next year :nana:

I couldn't agree more. Kudos for doing so much for charity but I can't stand listening to his inane drivel for five minutes let alone fifty hours.

You know listening to Radio 1 isn't mandated, right?

You do realise that you can step outside of the house and frequent establishments where they
do happen to play Radio 1?

That's bloody good! Also I'm with you on this one, the Chris Moyles show is the only radio show that makes me laugh! I don't listen to a lot of radio unless I'm driving, usually to and from work..
I listen in the mornings when I'm getting ready for college, and since this started, I've been tuning in with my parents in the morning and evening every so often. They've taken on a massive challenge, and like them or not you have to admit that what they're doing is superb. It's great what they're doing for charity and for people like me who like him it's thoroughly enjoyable.
I'm all in favour of doing things for charity and it's great that they have done this but it's hardly a challenge when you consider:
QuoteThe pair, who will now have two weeks off to recover, set the record for Radio DJ Endurance Marathon (Team) at 8.30am when they had been on air for 50 hours and then carried on for another two hours.
The pair were allowed a five-minute break every hour and took showers to refresh themselves as well as the occasional brief power nap.
Couldn't we have had 50 hours of Fearne Cotton in her swimsuit? I'm sure they'd have received a lot more donations. They could have even setup the shower cam for when she needed to refresh herself
Well I know for a fact I wouldn't have been able to stay awake for 50 hours without having occasional naps. I can't even manage a few hours without needing a nap actually.
Also, quite a few listeners actually stayed awake the whole time with them, one man even took time off work to do it apparently.
Power naps that's just cheating! Still though they did raise 1.8M!
I haven't tried in a long time.... but when I was younger I could easily do 50 hours without sleep... and that was in the days before redbull !
