My friend keeps getting BSOD and searching on the internet it seems to be an update/hotfix called KB925902 which is causing this!

Where do you go to uninstall that update? I guess it's from control panel, but I can't see where to go next?

system restore is the easiest way !
(thats how I've always done it anyway)

Some windows updates/fixes will appear at the bottom of Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features, whatever it's called in Control Panel now. I think as knighty says, the only other solution is System Restore.

He said it has done it since he got the computer, and has re-installed windows, but it still does it?! Does that mean he should still maybe remove that update?

It sounds more likely that that is not the problem. What's the error message of his BSOD?

did it do it straight away after the re-install ?
(ie. before it updtated again?)

Sounds to me like its probably not the update.

If he gets us the code we can look into it, or alternatively you can get him to read his minidump's

He just text this:

c000021a  fatel error 0xc0000005

Which when googled seemed to give the hotfix error.

Right, I must be being thick........

I open command prompt, and type System Root\System32\Drwtsn32.exe -I,

But I get the following error:
'System' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.


Any ideas?

"System Root" means the system folder location

C:\windows\system32\drwtsn32.exe -I is your command

Or if that doesn't work type:

cd\windows\system32
drwtsn32 -I
