Just watched the 1st film agin tonight after not seeing it in years and I love it! Forgot how good it was :D

Going to stick 2 on methinks, i remember it not being as good but still watchable... shame about the 3rd and the tv series thing :/

First one was great but they ran out of scripting ideas 2 didnt really cut the mustard to the same level or 3 for that matter.

The first one was a great the other two not so though two was at least watchable unlike three.

Two was worse than 3. The only thing that let 3 down was its 12 rating.

The whole Kain as Robo2 was ridiculous in 2.

Iv always seen 1 as the best of all of them, 2 was ok and 3 was ok as well i think the only let down of 3 was that Weller didnts star in it, rumour has it that they might make a remake of the whole Robocop trilogy.

Since this thread is allready on the theme of Robocop.  Might as well discuss the up and coming one.

I'm thinking it's either going to have a lot of CGI over the top a-la Green Lantern or that they were just doing some mobility tests and the suit isn't complete.

Looks pretty poor choice in suit. As the guy says it doesn't look very robotic :P

Hopefully things will change as we get more information in the following months

I always try to give things a chance these days. I thought Dredd would be awful looking at the production shots and it's turned out to be one of the best films I've seen all year.

I was looking forward to Dredd and still want to see it however nowhere is showing it in 2D and I refuse to see it in 3D. In fact only 6 cineworlds in the UK are showing the 2D version so f**k em, I'll go out of my way to pirate it.

I completely agree. I'm normally the first person to rant about 3D ruining cinema but in Dredd it was very well done, the first film I've seen where it really enhanced the experience.

Saw this the other day. Robocop seems too human in this, not enough...robo?

Had high hopes for this - thought the potential was immense. This on the surface looks disappointing - hope I'm wrong.

Just back from seeing this, different from the original but I enjoyed it. Solid enjoyable action.

Wont be to die hard original fans liking though.

I used to watch Channel101 a lot several years ago. I might have to watch the whole movie sometime later :D

I watched the remake about a month ago, to start with I couldn't decide if I liked it not not but after watching it again I think it's ok - it's definitely not in the same league as the original though which was to be expected really. I think the biggest let down of this remake is the fact that it's heavily toned down to more of a family audience with it being a 12A rating, I think if it was a 15 or even an 18 then it would of been miles better in my opinion. Gary Oldman has also hinted that if this remake was successful in the box office charts & amongst the film critics too then it could spawn into a sequel.

In this case, as with the Star Trek films, you have to view it as something completely new and separate from the original. As such it's not too bad. Original still better though.

Hopefully, if they do follow on films, they will ditch the script for 2 and 3 and produce new ones.
