Title: Rumour Mill
Post by: neXus on May 10, 2007, 19:20:55 PM
A number of stores across the globe are removing sales of the Xbox360 core and not going to re-stock.

Also Microsoft has had a statement to the industry out for a while in referred to their plans for 360 mentioning the 2 package marketing system.

You also have a number of recent comments from developers about the annoyance of creating games not being able to store data on a hardrive to improve many aspects.

You got Sony quickly just before release pulling their non hardrive version of the PS3

What is the betting at some point this year with the elite going into a full production cycle and the new chip versions out later this year MS totally pull the core system and do some sort of special deal/offer for core users so they can get a hardrive for cheap or something (loaded with crap demos as well probably) and something like 3months live subscription

Sales are not that great for it in many areas it seems anyway and it would help out developers in terms of gamining.

The core was a good(ish) idea when it first came out, you could buy it cheap then upgrade later down the line.

Now its been out a while, it completely makes sense to make the core have  a 20 and a elite have a 120 giggleybits drive.
